Sint Annendwarsstraat 9C
During Amsterdam Art Week, No Limits! Art Castle will host daily artist talks exploring the intersections of sex, counterculture, and art. These discussions take place in the context of The SEXSHOP ARTSHOW – our art exhibition that mimics a sexshop but exclusively features works by an incredibly diverse range of artists, from local sex worker artists to artists with Down syndrome who love porn.

Wednesday 21 May, 18:00 – 19:00

Sex o’clock artist talk: Bert Sliggers
Bert Sliggers has been collecting erotica for over thirty years, ranging from small pieces of paper that reveal something exciting only when folded or held up to the light, to books, drawings, and prints. On May 21, he will take you through his collection, which he has researched and written several books about.

Bert Sliggers (1948) is a historian of science. As a curator, he was affiliated with the Teylers Museum in Haarlem, where he organized numerous exhibitions at the intersection of art and science.

Thursday 22 May, 18:00 – 19:00

Sex o’clock artist talk: JennekePenneke
“How I Survived as a Female Artist” – A talk by a seasoned fighter about late-blooming strategies, learning to use your middle finger, and how to deploy your erotic capital.

Jenneke van Wijngaarden is a fiercely original visual artist who has been challenging conventions since graduating in 1994. Her work unabashedly explores erotic themes, blending feminine desire, humor, and classical beauty with a bold, innovative approach. Drawing inspiration from the intimate world of textiles and personal narratives, she creates immersive installations that invite viewers to celebrate sensuality in all its forms.

Friday 23 May, 18:00 – 19:00

Sex o’clock artist talk: Mercy St.J from HXSSY
A lecture on the seductive commerce of both art and sex work, through a cultural & historical grounding in de Wallen’s Red Light District.

Mercy St.J (they/them) is a domme, writer, photographer, community organiser, speech writer and founder of HXSSY: Queer SW Arts & Culture. Interested in all things debaucherous, raunchy, kinky, & profane, they see the erotic both as a creative form of expression and powerful political tool to upturn systems that oppress queers, trans folks, and sex workers.

Saturday 24 May, 18:00 – 19:00

Sex o’clock artist talk: a.k.a skips
a.k.a. skips is a Rotterdam-based artist, porn performer, and queer trans man. His talk will explore the trap of public perception, and perversion as the ultimate road to self-acceptance.

This self-taught visual art practice was born in San Francisco’s graffiti culture from the zeroes, in which he was (allegedly) a teenage participant. Now canvas-based and mixing a range of techniques, his work explores his relationship to his body, trauma, power, pleasure, public perception, and his place in the world.

Sunday 25 May, 18:00 – 19:00

Sex o’clock artist talk: JeanPaul Paula
JeanPaul Paula (he/him, 1986) is a multidisciplinary artist and queer icon working at the intersection of fashion, photography, and performance art. During this session, he will take us on his journey into his erotic photography.
