Palestinian-Syrian queer artist s.t.a.t.e.l.e.s.s (Ahmad Mallah) knows all too well what the consequences of war are for the civilians who fall victim to it, such as for the civilians in Palestine. On the one hand, there is a protest that is simple and clear: the bombing of Palestine must stop and the Palestinians must receive emergency aid. That is why we sold works from the Lost & Never Found series and 100 euros from each sale went directly to The Palestine Children Relief Fund.

On the other hand, there is a protest that is more complex and layered: where in history did the spiral of violence begin? What are the consequences of war for individuals and how do the resulting traumas become embedded in individuals and societies? Protest also consists of showing complex issues that cannot be captured in a single Instagram post. Protest also involves making humanity visible and how it is affected by war and violence.
